About

How nice that you ended up on my website. Please let me introduce me. My name is Sherita Jager, and I’m a freelance journalist, translator, proofreader and creative writer.

My background

I was born and raised in the Netherlands. I studied Journalism at the School for Journalism in Utrecht. During this four-year study I learned all the ins and outs of journalism. I choose the specialization magazines.

In my third year I went to Madrid for a minor in Philosophy and Modern History – all in español, of course. My last study year was spent on internships. I wrote for several weekly newspapers of the famous Telegraaf Media Group, and I wrote articles for international fashion magazine Grazia. My graduation assignment was about the beauty ideal in the
media, and the effect of this on the self-image of women, a subject that I still like to talk about.

Some facts

  • I do not like to sleep with socks.
  • I’m hilarious writing, but in real life I am really not funny.
  • I don’t like to eat boiled carrots and I can’t tell right from left
  • I just can’t with scary movies and I’m afraid of ants.

My strong genres and interests

My strong genres are atmospheric and background articles, interview, reportage, personal descriptions and poems.

I have many interests, including people, languages, culture, Spain, Latin America, gender studies, sociology, beauty, history, philosophy, love, minimalism, sexism, feminism, culture, fashion, wedding trends, sustainable living, (natural) parenting, and jewelry.

Can a person have so many interests?
Yes.
Is it useful?
I don’t know. You tell me 🙂
